Kahiga Homestay is a holiday home that is well positioned in Nyeri County along the ever-busy Nyeri-Nanyuki highway only 2 hours from Nairobi Central Business District. The abode is fully furnished and includes 5 commodious en-suite bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate 10 persons supplemented by modern amenities, cozy fireplace for story-telling, an open-air pub, outdoor amenities for the youngsters and a lush garden that is ideal for camping and events such as weddings and corporate team building.
The Kahiga Team does its optimal best to ensure that it maintains its ethos as ‘A Perfect Getaway’ by providing the best possible accommodation and service to our lovely guests. Given that businesses exist because of the customer, it is imperative to us to ensure that we provide an enjoyable environment catered by our professional staff and also via feedback from our guests in order to perfect our services.
‘Kahiga” which translates to ‘small rock’ in Kikuyu dialect comprises of a small settlement in Nyeri County where the facility is located. Kahiga Homestay started off as a farm. The Director Mr. Mathews, a well-known architect and the Managing Director Mrs. Wambui, a passionate agriculturalist had at the time envisioned setting up a retirement home for themselves. And thus the ship set sail as their vision was finally realized when the bedrock for the home was laid in the late 90’s. The saying ‘little by little fills up the pot’ saw the husband and wife team put a lot of determination and passion in completing their dream retirement home in 2014; a work of art that lasted over 10 years.
Fast-forward to today, the rise in travel and outdoor enthusiasts in Kenya has enforced the couple to transform their beautiful retirement abode to a holiday home but still engage in agribusiness with the intention of commercializing their dairy enterprise to a large scale.
